Recently, the ultra-high-speed circuit research group of the Microwave Devices and Integrated Circuits Laboratory (Four-Room) of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences made breakthrough progress in the development of ultra-high-speed ADC / DAC chips, and successfully developed 8GS / s 4bit ADC and 10GS / s 8bit DAC chip. The ADC chip adopts a flash structure with interpolation average and integrates about 1250 transistors. Test results show that the chip can work stably at 8GHz clock frequency, and the highest sampling frequency can reach 9GHz. The ultra-high-speed DAC chip adopts the current switch structure based on R-2R, and integrates a 10Gbps self-test code stream generation circuit, which contains a total of 1045 transistors. Test results show that the chip can work normally at a clock frequency of 10GHz. Ultra-high-speed ADC / DAC chips have broad application prospects in the fields of optical communication and wireless broadband communication. The successful development of these two chips greatly increased the maximum sampling frequency of domestic single-chip high-speed ADC and DAC circuits, and also laid a solid foundation for the future development of higher-performance ADC / DAC circuits.
