Pantene uses corn raw materials to make shampoo bottles

Procter & Gamble is planning to use plastic cane as a raw material to produce shampoo bottles. From next year, the environmentally friendly packaging will be the first to start practicing on three major brands: Pantene Pro-V, Covergirl and Max Factor.

Procter & Gamble announced that in the next two years, the new shampoo bottle packaging will be tested on a global scale, while P & G hopes that the use of new materials packaging products can be listed on the market in 2011.
Braschem, a Brazilian company, is currently producing the new HDPE material for P&G's extraction of sugar cane material. The material is said to be 100% recycled under the existing reprocessing equipment.
Gina Drosos, global chairman of Procter & Gamble's beauty salon products, said that it was consumers who promoted the use of sugarcane to make plastic shampoo bottles.
He said: "We have started conversations with many women around the world. Many of them have said that they are pursuing the dual beauty of their own and the environment.
Len Sauers, vice president of global sustainable development at Procter & Gamble, said: "The use of sugarcane as a raw material for the production of plastic shampoo bottles is another measure for us to achieve sustainable development.
