Experiments show that this water-repellent effect can be maintained for one year, and it is very stable even when the textile is worn. Only under the action of a strong alkaline detergent will the water-repellent effect be weakened.

After such a water-repellent finishing, the warp-knitted elastic fabric can be used to produce waterproof sportswear or swimwear. Wearing a swimsuit that does not get wet can provide comfort and good health; this ultra-water-repellent textile can also reduce the coefficient of friction in water. It is used in the coating material of the hull to save fuel.

The silicon nanomolecular structure can also absorb other molecular components, so it has more potential uses, including lipophilic, oil-repellent, or hydrophilic treatments.
