Japan Develops Technology for Making Packaging Containers from Waste Paper

Some Japanese companies have recently succeeded in using waste paper to make packaging containers. Their strength is comparable to that of plastics, and they can be recycled and reused.
According to reports, Kawang Co., Ltd., a cosmetics manufacturer, uses waste paper as its raw material and has successfully developed technologies that can produce containers of various shapes. The Kao Corporation trial-produced containers have been put on the market and its strength is no less than plastic. At present, the company is developing daily necessities and food containers.
In addition, Nippon Seiki Co., Ltd. has also developed paper that is 5 to 10 times more stretchable than general paper and can be made into containers of various shapes using metal molds. The raw materials for this new technology are all wood and pulp, do not add synthetic resin, can be recycled, and are also environmentally friendly.
Japanese media believes that Japan uses 1 million to 2 million tons of plastics per year to produce food packaging containers. If paper products are used instead of plastics, a huge new market will emerge.
