Ink is a homogeneous mixture of colored bodies (pigments), binders, additives, etc., capable of printing and drying on the substrate, with a certain flow of slurry adhesive. Pigments are used to form colors; linking materials are used to provide viscosity; additional materials can increase the fluidity of the ink, make the ink thinner and reduce the viscosity of the ink, and accelerate the drying reaction of the oxidant, providing wear resistance, gloss, and the like.

Any color is represented by the three characteristics of hue, lightness, and saturation, and thus the above three factors must be considered in the color matching process. When selecting the ink, the gloss, hue, tinting strength and hiding power of the ink itself must be considered. In the ink color matching process, the ink used must be determined according to the actual printing process, the ink layer thickness, and the printing substrate.

Specifically as follows:

1. Observe and analyze the manuscript and the hue of the product under the standard light source, it is best to observe under the sunlight;

2. Observe the printed substrate. For our company, there are two main substrates: laser paper and white cardboard. For products printed on laser paper, the hue is often determined by the ink and the background color of the paper, so most of them are highly transparent.

Ink, and the product printed on white cardboard, the hue determined by the ink;

3. After analyzing the hue and substrate of the manuscript, you can begin to dispense ink. When formulating inks, depending on the analysis, we can determine which inks are needed, for example, blending greens and mixing them with yellow and blue. If the color of the draft is greenish yellow, the yellow ink is the main color when the ink is transferred, and the blue color is a little. In addition, when there are several red inks, yellow inks, and blue inks, it is also necessary to consider which kind of ink is the best. Restore original hue;

4. When choosing the ink needed for color matching, avoid mixing too much ink as much as possible, try to use ink that is close to the standard color and made of a single pigment. If the color matching uses too much color ink, the brightness is worse, and the mixed color is dumb. The higher the degree of light, so that when the color can be used to mix two kinds, there is no need to use three kinds, the less the better;

5, pay special attention to the coloring of ink. If the selected ink concentration is not high enough, the standard color concentration cannot be achieved no matter how the ink is dispensed.

6, when you need to add white and black ink, you should pay special attention to the added weight. In all inks, the white ink has the strongest hiding power. If you add too much water, it will not only dilute the color, but it will also prevent the reflection of the substrate. Because black ink has a particularly strong tinting power and is slightly careless, adding too much ink requires adding a lot of other color inks to adjust the color and waste. Therefore, special attention is required.

7, when adjusting the light color ink, should be based on white, add a little color ink in white ink, when the hue is dark, you should add white ink or varnish (dilute agent) to dilute the color, too much solvent, not only will affect the printing Performance, but also will destroy the ink structure, resulting in the separation of paint and resin oil.

8, gravure is a direct printing, its color reproduction, the level of reproduction through the depth of the plate version of the Internet to achieve, and gravure printing ink mostly volatile solvent-based ink. Solvents play a very important role in the gravure inks, which play a role in the solubility of solid materials, adjust the viscosity, adjust the ink drying speed, and enhance the wetting or dissolution of substrates. However, the use of solvents should be based on the actual printing effect and the specific circumstances. The same solvent is a slow-drying solvent when the vehicle speed is high, but it may be a quick-drying solvent when the vehicle speed is low, so that during the printing process, It is also important to use and mix solvents properly.

Of course, there are certain requirements for ink transfer personnel:

1, deployment personnel should be familiar with the gravure printing process, and have a strong ability to distinguish hue, deploying patience to adopt a gradual approach, not hurry to achieve, so as to avoid unnecessary waste;

2, to be familiar with the common color difference phenomenon in the deployment process. Such as: green yellow, you can add a small amount of blue ink; black is not pure, you can add a small amount of blue ink; silver ink darkens after a longer time, you can add a small amount of white ink; green gold plus a small amount of yellow or magenta ink Showing golden, gold and red effect; cyan too light can add a small amount of magenta ink;

3, pay attention to the color cast of ink. Ink usually has some color cast. For yellow ink, it should be good at distinguishing it with red phase or blue phase; for red ink, it should be good at distinguishing it with yellow phase or blue phase; for blue ink, it should be good at distinguishing it with red The phase is still greenish. We already know that blue and yellow are mixed in green, but if the blue used is too red, or the yellow is too red, then the mixed green will be dark, because it is actually equal to adding blue and yellow. Red. When dispensing ink, it is necessary to control the color shift of each color ink. 4. To understand the daily printing speed and printing pressure of the factory equipment, and to control the viscosity of the ink. Because the characteristics of gravure determine the different printing speeds and pressures under different pressures, the inks prepared at low speed must be reprinted with the original after the printing speed is opened to the daily speed, so as to avoid the color difference. , causing waste, while maintaining the consistency of ink viscosity;

5, according to the number of printing products, printing area, ink layer thickness, paper properties to estimate the amount of ink used to control the remaining ink.
